Enables Learning Alliance Corporation to expand its mission of preparing veterans for careers in telecom
What’s happening: Frontier is opening our doors in Denton, Texas to Learning Alliance Corporation (LAC) to establish its first training center in Texas, which will support veterans looking to pursue a career in the telecom industry. Our high-speed fiber internet, donated through our Broadband for Good program, will provide a fast, reliable connection to support LAC’s training programs.
What’s Broadband for Good: Broadband for Good is our commitment to advancing digital inclusion and strengthening the communities we serve. This program supports our purpose of Building Gigabit America by using our fiber technology and resources to connect more people to the digital society.
Why we chose LAC: We are dedicated to supporting veterans, who make up over 11% of our workforce. By donating our fiber internet and creatively using our workspace, we are helping LAC expand access to its training programs to provide more veterans with the skills and knowledge they need to pursue in-demand jobs in telecommunications.
More about Frontier’s Denton office: Our central office (CO) in Denton houses key components of our network operations, providing fast, reliable connectivity to businesses and residents in the community. We had extra room, and our longtime partner, LAC, was looking for a space in North Texas—so it was a natural fit.
Handy Quote: “Veterans are an important part of our industry. As a longtime partner of LAC, we’re excited to help the organization open their first Texas location in our Denton office, where they’ll enjoy fast, reliable connectivity as they prepare veterans for careers in telecommunications,” said Erin Kurtz, Frontier’s Chief Communications Officer.
Hear from Learning Alliance Corporation:
“We benefited from Frontier’s donation of fiber internet at our center in Tampa, Fla., and now, we’re excited to extend this partnership to Texas. Thanks to Frontier’s Broadband for Good donation, we’re able to open our first Texas location and, importantly, will have the fast, reliable connectivity we need to carry out our operations. This will help us scale our mission to open up job opportunities for more people, particularly our veterans,” said Cesar Ruiz, CEO of Learning Alliance Corporation.
