Frontier Donates High-Speed Fiber Internet and Vital Digital Resources to Local Women’s Transitional Housing Program

Free connectivity, new laptops and digital mentoring program will support unhoused mothers working to build a brighter future for themselves and their children

What is the donation?

Frontier will donate high-speed fiber internet, new laptop computers and digital mentoring to the mothers of local Connecticut women’s transitional housing program, Malta House. The donation is part of Frontier’s Broadband for Good social impact program.

Frontier’s donation will help unhoused mothers find permanent housing, apply for jobs, attain an education, arrange medical care and access government programs like ACP that provide people with affordable connectivity.

What is Broadband for Good?

Frontier’s social impact program Broadband for Good is a commitment to advancing digital inclusion and strengthening the communities it serves. The program supports the company’s purpose of Building Gigabit America by using its fiber technology and resources to connect more people to the digital society.

Why did Frontier choose Malta House?

Malta House is the only transitional living program in the state of Connecticut where a mother can stay with her baby for long-term support as she works to provide for her children, gain financial stability and find independence.

When given the opportunity to donate high-speed fiber internet to a local organization focused on changing the outcome for unhoused, single mothers, Frontier moved to action. By donating high-speed internet, new laptop computers and digital mentoring to the mothers of Malta House, Frontier will strengthen the agency’s mission of providing these women the resources they need to build a brighter future for themselves and their children.

“We are passionate about giving back to the communities we serve by powering locally loved organizations with our fiber internet. When we heard about the important work Malta House is doing in Norwalk for young mothers experiencing homelessness, we wanted to pitch in,” said Erin Kurtz, Frontier’s Chief Communications Officer. “Through our Broadband for Good program, we’re donating our high-speed fiber internet so these women can gain reliable access to the online resources they need to thrive.”

Hear from Malta House:

“It is an honor to be chosen as a recipient of Frontier’s Broadband for Good program,” said Lisa Koeppel, Executive Director of Malta House. “Frontier is helping to offset operating costs by providing free internet connectivity to our agency and our moms, as well as helping provide the technology needed by our agency to help our moms access the technology and resources available to assist them in their journey towards self-sufficiency and independence.”
